The CafeMom Privacy Policy describes our policies with respect to the collection and use of personal information on the CafeMom website and the products and services offered on the CafeMom website. The CafeMom Toolbar is a product offered on the CafeMom website. The following describes our privacy practices that are specific to the CafeMom Toolbar. To find out how to download the CafeMom Toolbar, click here. All references herein to "we" or "us" means CMI Marketing, Inc., which owns and operates the CafeMom website.

The CafeMom Toolbar can be downloaded by CafeMom members and visitors alike. However, some Toolbar features are only offered to CafeMom members. All users who download the Toolbar will have access to the SweetPea™ feature which allows them to add SweetPeas to posts on the CafeMom website and other websites that they may choose to visit. To access other fun features of the Toolbar, such as the signature feature, and updates, you must be a CafeMom member.

The CafeMom Toolbar automatically sends limited information to the CafeMom servers each time that you use one of the Toolbar features. That information includes the Internet Protocol address of your computer, the browser and operating system you are using, the time the request is made, what your request was for, the URL of the site you are on when you access the feature, and cookie data. That information (we'll call it "log" information) may be retained in CafeMom's server logs.

In addition, the Toolbar periodically checks with our servers to see if the member has received any messages from other CafeMom members and log information is recorded each time that request is sent from the Toolbar to the servers. In addition, when a CafeMom SweetPea is posted on a web page, our servers will automatically collect log information from any visitor to that web page.

We associate information gathered via the Toolbar with the applicable CafeMom member account. We also keep anonymous, but individually-related, information about non-members' use of the Toolbar. In addition, it is possible that a URL or other page information sent to CafeMom may itself contain personal information.

We use log information about aggregate Toolbar usage, including web pages on which users have downloaded SweetPeas, to determine future advertising placements or to improve our Toolbar and other CafeMom services.

Uninstalling the Toolbar

You can uninstall the CafeMom Toolbar at any time by pressing the "Options" button, and then the "Uninstall the toolbar" button, and following the instructions provided. If your computer uses the Microsoft Operating System, you can also uninstall the Toolbar by using the Add/Remove Programs feature in the Windows Control Panel. If you are using a different operating system, such as Mac or Linux with FireFox browser, you will be able to uninstall the Toolbar using the standard program uninstall features provided with those systems.
